2.      To preserve the environment, reduce carbon emissions, and cultivate a sense of responsibility among students towards environmental stewardship.
3.      To advocate for coastal conservation and encourage the reduction of plastic and other non-biodegradable materials to mitigate pollution.
4. Encouraging community work to cultivate students’ personalities, fostering national integration, social awareness, and disaster management skills.
5. Developing socially conscious individuals with strong moral and social responsibilities to enhance personal growth.

CONTEXT:
Promoting education and camaraderie in a clean, healthy environment is vital. The Go Green (Swachh Bharat) Mission underscores the necessity of sustainable practices, like using recycled wastewater for irrigation. Recognizing the environmental risks, we emphasize the urgent need for collective responsibility to protect our surroundings, ingraining this awareness in students.
CKNC remains dedicated to uplifting humanity, focusing on the welfare of the impoverished. Special emphasis is on outreach activities inspiring self-reliance through service and addressing challenges posed by digital lifestyles. Through high-standard initiatives, CKNC empowers communities with digital literacy and economic skills, promoting self-reliance and sustainable development to enhance quality of life.
Health outreach events foster sensitivity among students, instructors, and staff. Students advocate for personal growth and social change, expanding roles and responsibilities amidst and post COVID-19.
THE PRACTICE:
The college campus plant program aspires to enhance public awareness of the vital significance of afforestation, forest conservation, and environmental preservation by cultivating saplings, including medicinal plants.

v  Collaborating with Chennai’s esteemed Chettinad Hospital, we organize medical camps offering essential healthcare services.
v  Implementing backyard vegetable gardening at tribal houses in Thiruporur enhances food security and promotes sustainable agriculture practices.
v  CKNC students initiated the establishment of a library for residents of Thiruporur’s Karumbakkam hamlet, enhancing literacy and education.
v  During the COVID-19 pandemic, CKNC actively participated in the TN Illam Thedi Kalvi (Education at door step) Scheme 2021 to address educational challenges exacerbated by prolonged school closures.
Through healthcare, agriculture promotion, libraries, and education support, we aim for enduring impacts, fostering a prosperous, inclusive society.
In a display of compassion and solidarity, our students generously contributed funds for disaster relief efforts.

Eco-Campus Initiatives
Eco-campus initiatives create a pristine environment, attract students, minimize hazardous waste, reduce plastic use, and enforce anti-littering measures.
o   Waste Management: Waste paper is sold to TNPL, Karur for weeding purpose, while printer cartridges are refilled whenever possible; those unable to be refilled are returned to manufacturers.
o   Plastic Ban: Campus regulations strictly prohibit the use of plastic bags.
o   Classroom Environment: Each classroom is meticulously designed to optimize natural light and ventilation, ensuring a clean and hygienic learning environment.
·Collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver essential medical services and promote preventive healthcare practices.
·Utilizing underused spaces for gardening to enhance food security and promote sustainable agriculture practices.
·Establishing community libraries to provide accessible educational resources that enrich lives and empower individuals.

PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED AND RESOURCES REQUIRED: 
The institution faces challenges in recruiting and retaining laborers. Successful camps require significant financial resources supported by management for ongoing green campus maintenance and awareness efforts.
The program faced disruptions during the epidemic, causing interruptions that impacted community, school, and college connections.
Our college students are expected to participate in numerous activities within a limited timeframe, necessitating a well-structured calendar.
