Rules of Attendance

1. No student will be allowed to absent himself from the college without leave.
2. Leave for full day, if necessary will be granted only when an application for leave stating the reasons is submitted to the Principal, signed not only by the student but also by his father or guardian
3. In case of illness extending to more than three days the student has to produce a medical certificate to the Principal compulsorily.
4. A student who absents himself from the class during any hour of the day without leave will be considered as having been absent for half-a- day and shall lose one day attendance. He is also liable to be fined.
5. A student who absents himself without leave partially or completely during both the first and the second sessions of a day will be considered to have been absent for the whole day and lose two days attendance and shall also be liable to be fined.
6. Students who attend the class during the first hour, if they have to leave their class during the subsequent hour or hours for valid reasons should in person obtain the permission of the teachers concerned in written applications for leave. Otherwise, their absence will be treated as truancy.
7. Absence during the entire second session will be permitted only by the Principal under unavoidable circumstances to be explained in person and in writing to him. Students who violate the rules will be fined.
8. If a student is continuously absent for five working days without leave, his name will be struck off from the rolls unless the Principal is satisfied that the failure to obtain leave was unavoidable.
9. Attendance will be taken during every hour of the work. Students coming late will be fined.
10. The annual certificate of attendance required for admission to the University examination will in no case be granted unless (i) the student’s progress and conduct has been satisfactory and (ii) the student has attended three fourth of the number of working days in the academic year.
11. Physical training is compulsory for all students in the first year of the degree classes and rules of attendance given above will apply to all the physical training classes too.
